Como resultado daquela assembléia, formou-se uma comissão com a tarefa de preparar um encontro com o objetivo de avançar no processo de construção da quinta edição do Fórum Social Panamazônico (FSPA).
Em julho de 2009 ocorreu o referido encontro, com a participação de representantes de quase todos os países da Pan-Amazônia, tendo como principal resultado a reconstrução do Conselho Internacional (CI) do FSPA, bem como o fortalecimento da Comissão de Articulação do CI/FSPA, que tem a tarefa de fazer o enlace entre as mais de 50 entidades que compõem o referido Conselho Internacional.
Em novembro de 2009 ocorreu em Santarém o encontro deste Conselho Internacional, quando se definiu que o V FSPA será realizado naquela cidade, no período de 25 a 29 de novembro de 2010. Neste sentido, já foi constituído o Comitê Local, bem como diversos grupos de trabalho que já estão funcionando a todo vapor, rumo a mais um fórum organizado para saudar a vida, e definir os rumos de uma sociedade livre, com a certeza que um outro mundo é possível.
